Information Technology (IT) Specialist


SUMMARY: Provide technical assistance in supporting hardware, LAN/Wireless LAN, operating systems and a variety of application software.

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Previous experience in customer support, maintenance or repair services.
  3. Strong knowledge of computer hardware repair and software imaging/reloading.
  4. Detail oriented, decision making and problem solving abilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: includes the following, other duties may be assigned.

  1. Perform help desk duties.
    1. Assist users with hardware, network, software and phone system problems.
    2. Printer/fax assistance.
    3. Resolve connectivity issues.
  2. Computer and peripheral equipment inventory.
    1. Install, configure, update and maintain hardware and software.
    2. Label and assign equipment
    3. Research and requisition equipment for approval.
  3. Assist in network management.
    1. Install network equipment
    2. Network monitoring
  4. Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating systems and application software being used to provide high levels of support to users.
    1. Attend web training, online learning and conference calls.
  5. Ensure patient confidentiality and EMR security at all times.
    1. Maintain patient information within HIPAA guidelines.
  6. Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site.
  7. Consistently participates in and actively adheres to patient care expectations to attain clinical goals set forth in the PCHG Health Care Plans and the Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA)
