Clinical Training Specialist

General Description:

The clinical training specialist is responsible for providing new hire and annual trainings to employees such as emergency response, point of care testing, medication administration, phlebotomy, as well as general onboarding requirements. This position will also assist in on-location topic specific trainings for any of our services. This position will involve some travel to all PCHG locations to support new hires and existing care team members be confident and competent in the delivery of care. Florida license as an Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Florida license as an Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience providing direct patient care in an ambulatory care setting or primary care office
  • Experience as either a Preceptor, Team Lead Trainer or Trainer is highly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical training to new and existing care team members across all service lines engaged in direct patient care to include: administering injections, immunizations, oral medications, phlebotomy, nebulizer treatments, vital signs, and point of care testing, medical equipment utilization, etc.
  • Educates and monitors staff providing care on an ongoing basis and may refer staff to appropriate training based on competency level or individual need
  • Delivers onsite, side by side coaching and remote, telephonic coaching to ensure that staff are effective in their workflow delivery, following protocol, and meeting quality requirements
  • Ensures compliance of training standards and nursing care policies, procedures and systems.
  • Responsible for staying informed of industry and regulatory changes that impact that training and operations of services rendered
  • Responsible for developing content for training in collaboration with the Compliance & Training Manager
  • Measures, tracks, and evaluates learners' knowledge retention and satisfaction.
  • Responsible for administrative tasks related to training
  • Proficient at documenting in the electronic health record
  • Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times
  • Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site.
  • Adhere to patient care needs and the core values of Premier Community HealthCare to a provide best-in-class patient experience
  • Work towards attaining department goals and drive Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA)
  • Other duties as assigned
