SUMMARY: Provide medical care related to pregnancy or childbirth and diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases of women, particularly those affecting the reproductive system.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Maintain Patient schedule to maximize productivity. 
  • Obtain patient health history. 
  • Complete physical examination. 
  • Care for and treat women during prenatal, natal, and postnatal periods. 

Documentation 

  • Documentation of daily 
  • Documents patient preparation and response to procedure(s). 
  • Document test as normal or abnormal findings in patients electronic health record(EHR) 
  • Indicate proper charges for each visit/ delivery. 
  • Order and review test/ labs etc. 
  • Order appropriate diagnostic and laboratory test. 
  • Reviews with patient results from all testing. 
  • Review and prescribe medication as needed. 
  • Reviews and address patient tasks daily. 

Patient education. 

  • Explain procedures or prescribed treatments with patients. 
  • Educate patients on expectations. 
  • Review care plan and necessary actions on their part. 
  • Advise patients on diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention. 
  • Give brochures and printed literature to patients. 

Communication. 

  • Review action plan and ongoing treatment with primary care physician. 
  • Work effectively as a team member, with nursing, support staff and other providers.  
  • Participate in an on-call schedule as needed. 
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and EMR security at all times. 
  • Maintain patient information within HIPAA. 
  • Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site. 
  • Consistently participates in and actively adheres to patient care expectations to attain clinical goals set forth in the PCHG Health Care Plans and the Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA).

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:

  • Active medical license in the state of Florida. 
  • Board Certified. 
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and documentation. 
  • Ability to use basic mathematical skills. 
  • Able to preform repetitive tasks. 

COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS:

  • Exceptional Customer Service skills. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. 
  • Excellent grammar, spelling and interpersonal skills.
